Injection Mold Transfer and Production in China
Move an existing production mold already in China to Vicmold for mold inspection, trial molding, sample approval, and mass production.
Inspect the Mold, Run Trials, and Take Over Production
If your production mold is already in China, Vicmold can inspect it, run trial molding, confirm any required work, and take over ongoing injection molding production.
Mold Inspection Before Takeover
We check the mold, key components, and visible condition before the first trial.
Trial Molding Before Production
Trial parts confirm the mold, resin, and part requirements before mass production begins.
Confirm the Mold Is Ready for Production
Mold condition, machine fit, and trial part requirements are checked before production takes over.
One Factory for Mold Support and Production
After sample approval, the same factory team supports the mold and runs your production orders.

Mold Transfer Requirements
Available records let us prepare the incoming inspection and trial plan before the mold arrives.
- Part drawing or 3D file
- Resin specification
- Available mold files or photos
- Previous production information
- Known mold or part issues
- Current location in China
No complete file package? Send what is available. We confirm mold suitability after reviewing the physical mold and trial parts.
Know the Mold Status Before Trial Molding
Before installation, we confirm whether the transferred mold is ready for trial, what work is required, and what is needed to move toward sample approval.

Confirm the Mold Is Ready for Trial
We confirm the received mold, essential components, connections, and available records are sufficient to install and run the first trial.
Avoid Unplanned Work After Arrival
We inspect visible condition and confirm the mold can be matched with the intended injection molding machine and resin.
Plan Any Required Mold Work
If cleaning, maintenance, repair, or mold modification is needed, it can be arranged before trial molding.
From Mold Transfer to Mass Production
Six clear steps from the first review to an approved production release.
Confirm Mold Location
Confirm the mold is in China and available to move.
Share Transfer Details
Part, resin, and available mold information.
Inspect the Mold
Condition, components, and machine fit.
Run Trial Molding
Set up the mold, resin, and machine.
Approve Trial Parts
Check parts against the agreed target.
Release for Mass Production
Begin approved production.
Trial Molding, Part Approval, and Production Release
We run trial molding with the agreed resin and check the molded parts before the transferred mold moves into mass production.
Trial molding uses the project’s agreed resin specification.
Trial parts are reviewed against the drawing, available sample, and agreed requirements.
Mass production begins after the sample and required production conditions are approved.

Find Mold Issues Before Production Starts
Before trial molding, we check whether the mold needs cleaning, repair, or mold modification—so problems are found before they affect production.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Prepare the mold for installation and trial molding when needed.
Repair
Identify wear or damage before it affects trial molding or production.
Mold Modification
Make changes when the part design or production requirements change.
After the transferred mold enters production, maintenance and approved mold modification can be supported by our In-House Production Tooling team →
Mold Transfer & Production FAQs
Does the production mold need to be in China?
Yes. This service is for existing production molds currently located in China and transferred to Vicmold for injection molding production.
What information do you need for a mold transfer review?
Send the part drawing and 3D file, resin specification, available mold files, mold photos or video, previous production information, expected quantity, known issues, and the mold’s current location in China.
Can you review a transfer if some mold files are unavailable?
Yes. Send the information, photos, samples, and production history that are available. The physical mold and trial results must still be reviewed before production suitability can be confirmed.
What happens if the transferred mold needs repair?
We review the mold condition and repair needs, then provide the recommended next step before trial molding.
Can you complete mold modification before production?
Yes. When a mold modification is needed, it can be completed before trial molding. New trial samples are then produced for review before mass production.
When does mass production begin after the transfer?
Mass production begins after the mold has been reviewed, required work has been completed, the mold trial has been run, and the new samples meet the agreed approval requirements.
Ready to Transfer Your Production Mold?
Send your drawings, resin specification, available mold information, current location in China, and expected quantity for an initial review.
